What version of server software do you use?

At FastWebHost, we ensure that our clients have access to the latest and most reliable server software for optimal website performance and security. Below, we provide an overview of the server software versions currently in use across our hosting platforms:

Operating Systems

Our web hosting servers currently run AlmaLinux 9 default OS.

Our virtual private servers are powered by Virtuozzo with CentOS 8.x.
Bare Metal Servers come with many operating systems options to choose from, or you can load your very own OS.

PHP

We currently offer PHP 7 and PHP 8. You have the ability to choose between PHP 7.4, 8.0, 8.1, and 8.2.

The cPanel default profile includes PHP versions 8.0, 8.1, and 8.2.

EasyApache 4 supports PHP versions 5.4 through 5.6, PHP versions 7.0 through 7.4, and PHP 8.0 through 8.2.

Note: If your server runs AlmaLinux OS 9 or Rocky Linux™ 9, you cannot use PHP 7.1 or earlier.

Apache

Our web servers use Apache 2.4.x.

NGINX

Our web servers use nginx 1.21.6-4.el7.

MySQL

The following versions of MySQL are available:

  • MySQL 5.7
  • MySQL 8.0

If your server currently runs MySQL 5.6 or earlier and you wish to upgrade it to MySQL 8.0, you must first upgrade the server to MySQL 5.7.
MySQL 8.0 is the only database service and version that cPanel & WHM version 100 supports for Ubuntu® 20.04.

MariaDB

The following versions of MariaDB are available:

  • MariaDB 10.2
  • MariaDB 10.3
  • MariaDB 10.5
  • MariaDB 10.6
